When I decided to quit my profession as a CIVIL ENGINEER!

When I decided to quit my profession as a CIVIL ENGINEER!

The Road Not Taken,

TWO roads diverged in a yellow wood, And sorry I could not travel both, And be one traveler, long I stood, And looked down as far as I could, To where it bent in the undergrowth!

For sure, I think everyone of you could imagine how suffer my mind was when the moment of making a decision of DO @ DON’T in giving up to be a Civil Engineer, a dream career since I was standard 5!

But, I eventually chose to give up at this moment because I really want to take it as my biggest challenge in my life. I understand myself well and I know who am I actually, from the past and till now, I am confident in myself and I have been calculated all the possible risks in my career undertakings!

No worries, I am now working in a Recruitment Consultancy (http://www.fbchartmycareer.com/) and surely this industry is totally different with my 4 years study in UTM.

(The Road Not Taken, I like it so much!)

(Where to go, an easier way of Tough & Challenging ones?)

Dear Friends,

If you ask me why I decided to join the consultancy rather than to join a construction company to carry the title of Engineer, then I guess I would answer you as following: “Life is so unpredictable and no one could really expect what is happening in next second, just life how I decided to choose to leave my original profession. To be an entrepreneur and to start from a very strange beginning point, I decided to run for my co-partnership business. I don’t dare to foresee what would the company be in future, but I am sure that I can realize my dream when the company is on the right business track record later.”

When I look on my age, I am right 24 years old. In this age, 85% of fresh graduates decided to go for career opportunity, and 15% of fresh graduates go for entrepreneurship just like what I am doing right now. There would only about 10% out of the total of 15% of fresh graduates (~ less than 1.5% of total fresh graduates) eventually make a success in life. The rest of the young entrepreneurs will probably end up the business and go back to work due the reasons of No Cash Flow and Poor Business Management!

So, how dare am I here!

(Here I am, a good view of office that located next to Singapore)

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-, I took the one less travelled by, And that has made all difference.

Before signing the contract, my parents were keep on asking why I chose for such a job as my career development. It is because they thought that the tittle of Engineer is so smart and so arrogant when they tell their friend that their son is an Engineer. I’m sorry baba and mama because I know you all have really wished to see me to be an engineer after a long-wait of 4 years of my study in UTM. But I promise that my current career opportunity is a golden change for me to totally to change my future as I predicted and calculated the risks.

There is no U-Turn for me at this moment, but there is on a SUCCESS in my eyes. If the rest of 1.5% of fresh graduates could make a CHANGE, and why don’t me. Whatever I can do now is to work smart and work steady all the time.

Leading to Excellence, I must always keep myself alert, smart & sensitive in the business sense to make sure a SUCCES comes to the team. Nevertheless, I MUST start learning from the bottom, to learn new knowledge in my life and to always keep updating myself the latest news.

DON’T @ DO, I chose DO to make a change in my life and taking this Challenge as a part of learning curve!

May I Be Well and Happy!

Woeidar CHAI

Whatever I do, I still consider Berlin Rome Vienna as my aim. The moment I decided to form a business, it was the moment I think the way with me now is the fastest way to bring me to be with you, cheers for BerlinRomeVienna!

  3. Nothing better than to work for yourself and pay yourself.Being a business man is not something to fear of.
If you fall, stand up and move on.as easy as that.especially at the age of 24.10 years later, you'll be amazed by the fortune gained from what you had gone through.
    And..
Statistically,It's 50% of new entrepreneur will fail in the first 5 years, and another 49% will gone in 10 years. But there's no worry.
In fact, those who really did success is those who failed more than twice~

The 90/10 rules apply to those who accumulate enough financial knowledge as well as the desire of financial freedom.

    Good Luck,Chai~
